These are the 5 horror movies that will haunt you in this August

News24xx.com - Since the success and popularity of the horror film Pengabdi Setan (Satan Worshipper) by Joko Anwar in 2017, there are more and more people who make horror films in Indonesia. Since January 2018, there are 20 Indonesian horror films in total in Indonesian cinemas. However, there is still more horror films to come. Here are some horror films you can watch this month.

1.       Kafir – Bersekutu Dengan Setan

Kafir-Bersekutu Dengan Setan (Infidel-Allying With Satan) is released on August 2nd 2018. The film is directed by Azhar Kinoi Lubis, starring Putri Ayudya, Indah Permatasari, Rangga Azof and many others. The film is about a happy family, whose life becomes frightening after the father’s death. The child then tries to find the facts behind the terror that happens in the family.

2.       Sebelum Iblis Menjemput

Sebelum Iblis Menjemput (Before the Devil Fetch You) is released on August 9th 2018. The film is directed by Timo Tjahjanto, starring Pevita Pearce, Chelsea Islan, Ruth Marini, Ray Sahetapy, Karina Suwandi, Kinaryosih and many others. The film is about Alfie (Chelsea Islan) who has a dark life. Her mother dies in a mysterious way. Her father then remarries with a beautiful woman with two children. However, her father falls sick mysteriously. It turns out he is hiding a frightening secret.

3.       Aib #Cyberbully

Aib #Cyberbully (Disgrace #Cyberbully) will take you through the story of a game that ends with death. It all started with a post which later becomes something that ends with death. The film is directed by Amar Mukhi and has been released since August 2nd. The film stars Damita Romauli Argoebie, Shoumaya Tazkiyyah, Harris Illanno Vriza, Baron Yusuf Siregar and other young actress and actors.

4.       Gentayangan

Gentayangan (Haunted) will be released on August 16th. It is different from other Indonesian films because it is directed by Bollywood legendary director, Shyam Ramsay. The film stars Baim Wong, Nadine Alexandra and Christ Laurent. The setting of the film is in a haunted old hotel.

5.       Sesat: Yang Sudah Pergi Jangan Dipanggil Lagi

The film Sesat: Yang Sudah Pergi Jangan Dipanggil Lagi (Misguided: Those Who Have Gone Should Not Be Called Again) is directed by Sammaria Simanjuntak and will be released on August 23rd. It stars Laura Theux, Willem Bivers, Endy Arfian, Jajang C Noer and Kiki Narendra. The film tells the story of girl who wants to bring back her dead father with the help of the spiritual entity that lives inside an old well.
