At least 10 people confirmed death and dozens injured due to bridge collapsing in Liguria, Italy

News24xx.com - At least 10 people were killed and twenty vehicles hit by the debris of the Genoa toll bridge which collapsed due to heavy rain. Police sources say the death toll is likely to increase because rescue efforts have been carried out until now.

An ambulance official told Reuters news agency that up to now, there were only 2 injured people that have been confirmed, "but we estimate that many people died. A witness told Italian Television that he saw eight or nine vehicles passing by when it collapsed and the situation was location like "doomsday".

Video footage of helicopters uploaded on social media shows trucks and cars stuck on both sides of collapsed bridges.

Morandi Bridge, which is located in the south of the Italian city of Genoa, collapsed from a height of 50 meters due to the storm.
