News24xx.com - Thought disorder can be experienced by anyone. There are various kinds of thought disorder that can occured in humans, such as delusions and hallucinations. Apparently these disorders turn out to have a different meaning.

As explained by Dr. Yuliana Ratna Wati SpKJ, delusions are a disorder to believe something that is not in accordance with reality. "Delusion is a disturbance of thought, person who believes in something that is not according to reality. The nature of delusion strongly believes and cannot be denied, broken, or corrected in any way" she said. "Even though it is presented with objective data like anything, it still cannot change its beliefs."

So the delusion of a belief is not in accordance with the reality held by someone. Then what's the difference with hallucination? Hallucination is a disturbance of sensory sensations in the senses. Someone who experiences hallucinations can hear a sound or see something that is actually not there.

"If hallucinations are a disorder of perception. The perception is sensory sensation that has been processed and gets understanding in the brain. So hallucinations can be in the form of the five human senses" said Dr. Yuliana.

Both of these disorders can occur due to an imbalance of neurotransmitters in the brain. People who experience delusions generally also experience hallucinations. "Usually yes. According to the terminology of psychiatry, people who experience delusions and hallucinations mean that in a psychotic condition, those who complain can no longer distinguish between real and unreal, fantasy, or reality" she concluded.
