News24xx.com - Tarantulas are often used as dishes. But this Mexican restaurant was criticized, after uploading a rare tarantula video that was burned alive as a taco filling. Entered into the category of 'exotic food' a tarantula-type hairy spider, popularly processed into extreme food but popular with many people. One of which isa Mexican restaurant called en el Paladar in Mexico City, South America.

Reported by Munchies, August 16th 2018, this restaurant gets harsh criticism from environmental protection organizations. The reason is, they use an endangered Brachypelma type of tarantula, and categorizes as protected animals.

The practice of using this rare tarantula became viral, after Mexican restaurant en el Paladar uploaded a live video of tarantula burning alive. In the video, the tarantula was burned repeatedly. Until the tarantula is slightly burnt, and crunchy.

This rare tarantula then placed into a tortilla, with smooth avocado, and lemon juice. One portion of this rare taco is valued at around MXP 500.

This price is quite expensive, considering that taco is a low price 'street food'. This video goes viral on Facebook, and gets serious responses from FEPA (Federal Environmental Protection Agency).

"Good afternoon, remembering the input and suggestions from PROFEPA regarding the permit to use a tarantula as food. Our restaurant does not have the permit, and unfortunately we have not had time to take care of the documents. We will immediately arrange a permit, and stop selling tarantula taco" wrote the explanation from the official Mexican Restaurant en el Paladar account on Facebook.
