News24xx.com - New advertising campaign of the Italian fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana very strong outraged the people of China. The design house even had to cancel the show in Shanghai after several Chinese celebrities at once refused to take part in it, writes «China Daily».

In just four days, the Italian fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana turned the whole of China against itself. All because of an unsuccessful advertising campaign, which in China was considered racist.

According to critics, in its latest series of commercials, D&G has done too loudly with the centuries-old Chinese culture and has depicted Chinese women as racists. The video features three lessons in which Chinese women are taught how to eat traditional Italian cuisine with chopsticks. The girl hardly gets to try pizza with the help of chopsticks, and in the meantime, behind the scenes, a male voice in Chinese is interested: “Is it too much for you?”

After such a campaign, users of Chinese social networks expressed their indignation. “Some foreign luxury brands like Dolce & Gabbana behave very two-faced. On the one hand, they want to make money in China and win the favor of the Chinese market, but on the other hand, they continue to behave ugly”, - quotes the publication of commentators.

Also, one of the users shared screenshots of correspondence with one of the founders of the brand, Stefano Gabbana. They can be seen as the Italian designer calls China an unkind word and insists that he will never remove the post with offensive advertising. Subsequently, D&G said that their page was hacked, and the designer himself apologized and said that "he loves China and Chinese culture."

But users of Chinese social networks decided that the brand simply tried to hush up the situation. Several Chinese celebrities, including actresses Zhang Ziyi and Li Bingbing, as well as actor Chen Kun, declined to participate in the D&G fashion show, which was scheduled to take place on November 21 in Shanghai. And then the brand announced the cancellation of the event.
