PKS believe that the Democrat party will remain solid in supporting the Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno coalition

News24xx.com - Chief of the Prosperity and Justice Party (PKS) Central Executive Board Mardani Ali Sera, expressed his optimism that the Democrat party will remain solid in supporting the Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno coalition. Mardani expressed his statement following the recent meeting between Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono (Ibas) with President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and Chairwoman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri.

Not only putting his faith on Democrat Party, Mardani said that PKS also believed that the National Mandate Party (PAN) will remain in the coalition. Previously, many said that PAN will join with the government coalition after the 2019 Presidential Election.

"PKS believed that PAN and Democrat will remain in the Adil Makmur coalition," Mardani said on Friday, June 7, 2019.

Mardani asserted that switching between coalitions is not a good political attitude. He said that no matter the stance or coalition, a political party can always provide contribution for the country.

"It is not a good political attitude to easily switch coalition, because showing the love for the country can be done from everywhere," he stated.

Not only PKS and Democrat who are said to having possibilities to join the Jokowi coalition. The Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party is also said to have the tendency to join the government coalition.

Deputy Secretary General of Gerindra Andre Rosiade claimed that the party had received offers from the Jokowi coalition. The offer includes positions in the government cabinet, Chairman of the People’s Representatives Assembly and chief of commission at the House of Representatives.

Mardani said that his party is yet to decide its response to the possibilities of cooperating in the parliament with the government coalition. Referring to the current condition, PKS has one of its members serving as the Deputy Chairman of the People’s Representatives Assembly for the 2014-2019 period.

He added that the party's future plan will be discussed and decided by its Syuro Council. "Future plans will be decided by the Syuro Council after all process has been finished," he stated.
