Male student posed as underage girl to catch child sexual predators

News24xx.com - Ethan, a 20-year-old college student from California, US, posed as an underage girl using Snapchat’s gender filter to catch child sexual predators after his female friend was molested as a child. He was able to catch a cop who wanted to date a minor.

Ethan used the feature that would transform his male face into a female face, and disguised himself as a 16-year-old girl named Esther. He then created a Tinder account and received a message from a man named Rob. After research, he found out that the man was San Mateo Police Officer named Robert Davies.

Continuing to chat with Davie on messaging app called Kik, Ethan claimed that “her” name was Esther and “she” was 16. On may 11th, he tipped the police about what he had been doing and they launched a criminal investigation.

The screengrabs of their conversation shows that Davies was trying to engage in sexual activity with “Esther”. He was then arrested on June 6th and charged for contacting a minor to commit a felony.
