Bonita will be released back to the wilderness

News24xx.com - After having made a commotion in the community in Indragiri Hilir Regency, Bonita, name of a female Sumatran tiger,  will be released back to the wilderness. Not only Bonita, the same thing will also be done to Atan Bintang, a male Sumatran tiger, which is also secured from Indragiri Hilir Regency. The plan was revealed by the Head of the Riau Province's Center for Natural Resources Conservation (BBKSDA), Suharyono in Pekanbaru, on Friday, July 5, 2019.
 
It is said, currently the two tigers are still in the Sumatran Tiger Rehabilitation Center in Dharmasraya District, West Sumatra Province. But Suharyono refused to mention in the area where the two animals would be released. It was said, he deliberately published, so as not to provoke a plan of hunting for protected animals.

Not only that, Bonita and Atan Bintang will be released in the same area, the reason is because the sexes of the two tigers are different, so there will be no seizure of the region (territory).

Meanwhile, to facilitate the monitoring,  aGPS necks will be attached to the necks of the two wild animals. So, it can monitor the development of both at any time. As we known, the Sumatran tiger named Bonita, had caused a stir in the people of Riau, especially the people of Indragiri Hilir Regency, because they pounced on residents, and resulting in two deaths. Bonita even out during the day in the oil palm plantation area of ??PT Tabung Haji Indo Plantation (THIP) in Pelangiran District, Indragiri Hilir. The search process for Bonita lasted four months. Precisely from January 2018 to April 2018 then. The search for Bonita was also noted as an effort to save and relocate the oldest tigers in Indonesia.

Meanwhile Atan Bintang was rescued by officers in November 2018, after being trapped under the building of a shop house on Burung Island, Indragiri Hilir Regency.
