Traffic officers in Indragiri Hulu captured the suspect of hit-and-run accident

News24xx.com - A driver named Maruli Sitanggang (47) from Lampung Province was caught by the traffic officers of Indragiri Hulu Police Department after causing an accident and ran without admitting to it.

The arrest happened on Wednesday morning, July 10th 2019. The suspect was caught after being chased as far as 22 km.

Head of Inhu Police, Dasmin Ginting SIK said that Sitanggang was arrested due to careless driving, which killed another civilian, Mahroji (65) from Seberida, Inhu.

“The victim suffered a serious injury to the head, which cost him his life. Before, he had gotten medical treatment in the nearest Public Health Center,” he said.

He explained that the arrest happened dramatically because the suspect, who drove Innova car with police number BE 1023 QA, tried to run away from the police and drove as far as 22 km toward Jambi.

Fortunately, the officers in the local traffic post received the report about the incident and quickly stopped the suspect.
