Today rowers from 12 countries will compete in Kampar international dragon boat festival

News24xx.com - Kampar International Dragon Boat Festival is officially opened today, Thursday, July 18th in Lake Rusa, Batubersurat Sub-District, XIII Koto Kampar District, Kampar Regency, Riau. The rowers from 12 different countries are ready to compete against each other.

On Wednesday, around 11 countries had arrived in Kampar. They are Australia, Canada, United States of America, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Hongkong, Kenya, and the Philippines.

Head of the Festival Committee, Aidil Amin, who is also the Head of Regency Management of Indonesian Rowing Association (PODSI), said to the reporter that the event begins at 08:00 a.m. This event will be attended by Riau Governor and three ministers, the Minister of Tourism, Minister of Youth and Sport and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing.

The event is opened with water ski attraction. Enthusiastic spectators have arrived at Lake Rusa.

On Wednesday night, Kampar Government held a welcome party for the other 11 countries in the Hall of Kampar Regent’s Official Residence.

Not far from there, in Bangkinang City Park, there was Culture and Arts Performances in order to celebrate this big event.
