2 people died and dozen others heavily injured after a ride in amusement park in India snapped in half

News24xx.com - A swinging, circular pendulum ride in western India has killed two and left dozens more critically injured after breaking apart mid-air earlier this week.
The shocking accident, which was caught on video, took place at Kankaria Adventure Park in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on July 14.
In the video, the ride, which was called “Discovery,” can be seen functioning normally as it begins.
Seconds later, however, its main pendulum arm breaks mid-air, dropping patrons to the ground.
According to Ahmedabad Mayor Bijal Patel, the unfortunate event left two dead and 29 critically injured. It’s unclear if all 32 seats of the ride were occupied at the time.
Meanwhile, Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra announced that a criminal investigation is underway.
So far, six people — including the managing director of the company running the theme park — have been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, NDTV reported.
