A man was arrested due to insulting Inhil regent HM Wardan on Facebook

News24xx.com - A man, referred to as SW, was arrested by Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Sector Police. He was accused of insulting Inhil Regent HM Wardan on Facebook.

The suspect was a civilian from Gaung Anak Serka District. He was captured in his home on Friday, July 19th 2019 on 02:00 p.m.

SW was arrested without a fight and brought to the Police Headquarters to be interrogated. According to Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Inhil Police, Indra Lamhot Sihombing, SW was accused of not only insulting the Regent, but also a woman named Olva Susanti.

“The content that was spread by SW has an element of defamation toward the victims, HM Wardan and Olva Susanti. Right now, SW wa being examined in Inhil Police Headquarters,” he said.

At the beginning of 2019, SW uploaded a post on his Facebook account which said that Inhil Regent HM Wardan was having a mistress. It was followed by a photo of a woman who was taking selfie with her friends. The post had become viral among the civilians.
