Raging in School, ODGJ in Selat Panjang is Secure by Satpol PP

News24xx.com - A man suspected of having a mental disorder had to be secured by the Selatpanjang Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol-PP) after a tantrum and ransacking equipment at the State Elementary School (SDN) 013 Selatpanjang City Urban Village, Thursday (5/9/2019).

The Head of the Meranti Islands Regional Civil Servants Regulatory Section, Piskot Ginting, said that his party had secured the man concerned that it would endanger the school community.

"Earlier we got information from the Selatpanjang City Urban Village head that a madman was destroying the school, so we sent down members led by Kasi Binmas. Indeed, the school was destroyed, school equipment was scattered and many glasses were broken," said Piskot, Thursday (5 / 9/2019).

He does not yet know related to the psychiatric concerned, whether being depressed or there are other problems. However, for security concerned, officers were taken to the PP Satpol office.

"We are coordinating with the Social Service as well as the health office for the inspection concerned. For now, it is still being secured at the Satpol PP office, guarded by officers," he said.

Meranti Islands Satpol PP, he said, was also always on standby to ensure the peace and order of the residents was maintained. Aside from always being alert, there are complaints from the public, and also regularly organizes patrols.

Meanwhile, Head of Satanti PP Meranti Islands, Helfandi SE MSi said that his party remained committed and synergized to help secure ODGJ.

"Regarding ODGJ, Satpol PP continues to commit and work together to help the task of protecting people with mental illness. This is a joint task of the Social Service and Health Office, Satpol PP will keep backing up," said Helfandi.
