Proud, Tour de Siak Has Been Registered in the Top 100 of Indonesian Tourism

SIAK- Having been held consistently over the past few years, the Tour de Siak bicycle race is now on the tourism agenda at the Ministry of Tourism. Not only that, this event has also been included in the top 100 tourism in the country.

This was revealed by the Governor of Riau Syamsuar, during the Grand Opening Ceremony of the 2019 Tour de Siak bicycle race on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 last night. The activity was centered at the Sultan Syarif Kasim Regional Building.

In his remarks, Gubri Syamsuar said, the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) had set three events in Riau as one of the top 3 international events. One of them is Tour de Siak. Whereas two other activities are Bakar Barge in Rokan Hilir Regency and Pacu Path in Kuantan Singingi.

Therefore, he added, this should be grateful for all elements of the Siak community. Because thus, it is expected that the development of the tourism sector in Siak which has been intensively carried out, can develop even better.

Meanwhile, Regent Siak Alfedri said, currently the Ministry of Tourism and Tourism has fully supported the implementation of the TdS. "It is now in its seventh year. We hope that with this event Siak can be introduced to foreign countries," Alfedri said.

For this competition, he explained, there were 55 racers from 11 teams. This TdS 2019 consists of 4 stages with a total distance of 542 kilometers. Later, the riders will cross several tourist attractions and historic sites in Siak Regency.

From field observations, last night's grand opening activity was lively. The highlight of the entertainment was presented when the capital band, Andra And The Backbone, appeared to entertain the public.

Also present at the occasion was the Provisional Chairperson of Siak Council Zulkifli MSi, former Regent and Siak Arwin AS community leader, element of the Siak Regency Muspida Deputy Pelalawan Regent and other invitations.

Information compiled from the committee, TdS 2019 was followed by 11 teams from 14 countries. Eight of the teams came from abroad, namely the KGB Cycling Team, Terengganu Cycling Team (Malaysia), Global Cycling Holland, Valovit Australia, Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan (Iran), Nex CCN Cycling Team (Philippines), Kinan Cycling Team (Japan) and Go For Gold Cycling Team (Philippines). While the other three teams came from within the country, namely BSP Siak, KFC Cycling Team and Indonesia National Team. ***
