A total of 630 rowing athletes will compete in the male river, SISBR officially begins

News24xx.com - The implementation of an international scale canoe runway named Siak International Serindit Boat Race (SISBR) was officially opened by the Regional Secretary of Siak, H Tengku Said Hamzah, Thursday, November 14, 2019 night. A total of 630 rowing athletes will compete in the deepest river in Indonesia.

The opening night of SISRB III in 2019 began with dinner together on the banks of the Male River with all rowing athletes and their official teams.

Although it was lonely in the presence of the community and officials in the scope of the Siak Regency Government, the beauty of the dancing fountain, the butterfly bridge, and the Siak Palace made the atmosphere of the opening night of SISBR a bit more colorful.

Head of Siak Tourism Office, Fauzi Asni said that 630 athletes who had arrived the opening night were joined in these 45 teams, 5 of which were from the Malaysian and Brunei Darussalam teams.

"Iven SISBR is part of preserving one of the traditional community activities. In fact in the past this boat racing was quite often played by the community. The aim of this activity was to restore the public's interest to the traditional boat race that we adopted eventually became an international competition," said Fauzi

Before opening SISBR, the Regional Secretary of Siak H Tengku Said Hamzah also admitted that every traditional event in Siak earth is still preserved through various activities that are agenda every year by the Siak Regency Government. Such as top festivals as well as cultural marches that are packed in Siak Bermadah.

"And every event carried out by the Siak Regency Government has a positive impact on PAD Siak and UKM players in Siak Regency. Welcome to all rowing athletes from home and abroad. Good luck playing, let's uphold sportsmanship during the competition," he said.

The opening night of the SISBR III was attended by the Governor of the Republic of Indonesia, represented by Acting Head of Kadispar Riau, Chairperson of the Siak Azmi Regency DPRD along with Deputy Chairperson of Siak DPRD, Chairperson of the Riau Province KONI, Chairperson of the Riau Portion and Forkompinda Chairperson in Siak Regency.
