Susi Pudjiastuti Criticizes Jokowi on Reopening the Export of Lobster Seeds

Jokowi said that the desire of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Edhy Prabowo, to lift the ban on lobster seed exports must be seen from the benefits of the benefits and the environment.

"The most important thing, in my opinion, is that the country benefits, fishermen benefit, the environment is not damaged.

Jokowi warned, lobster seed exports must pay attention to the balance factor.

That is, added value for the country must be obtained and the environment is not damaged.

"Don't be too cautious, everything is captured, exported, or not right," Jokowi said.

Jokowi is sure to get the best formula from the study.
"I think the experts know about how to maintain the environment, so that lobster is not smuggled, not exported in a frank manner, but also fishermen can benefit from it, added value is in our country," he said.

However, contrary to Jokowi, as the initiator of a regulation prohibiting the export of baby lobsters, former KKP Minister Susi Pudjiastuti previously expressed objections if exports were finally reopened.

While still serving as the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, at the time Susi Pudjiastuti admitted that she was worried that the large export of lobster seeds to Vietnam would cause ecological damage.

The high demand for lobster seeds from Vietnam makes lobster seeds exploited through large-scale fishing.

In fact, said Susi Pudjiastuti, if lobster seeds or fries are left alive in the open sea, they can be of very high value when adult lobsters are caught by fishermen in the future.

After Susi Pudjiastuti's criticism, Edhy Prabowo emphasized that his party had only reviewed the matter of the discourse to open lobster seed exports.
