News24xx.com - Popcorn is indeed a mandatory food for some people when watching a movie.

But who would have thought snacks made from corn turned out to be able to bring disaster.

Recently, a man from England, Adam Martin (41) had an unpleasant experience because of popcorn.

Reporting from Fox News, in mid-September 2019 ago, Martin and his wife watched a movie in the cinema.

They also buy popcorn as a snack while watching.

When eating it, Martin realized if there was popcorn that stuck in one of his back teeth.

But he had difficulty removing it.

This stuck popcorn survived in one of its back teeth for three days.

Martin claimed to have used various methods to remove the popcorn.

Starting from a toothpick, the tip of the pen cap, a piece of wire, to metal nails.

Unwittingly, his actions had damaged the gums around his teeth.

A week later, Martin often sweats at night.

The man who works as a firefighter complained of fatigue and headaches.

At first Martin thought that this was a sign of flu.

But later only found out if his body was attacked by a fairly serious disease.

It turns out that Marin's body has an infection which is a sign of endocarditis or endocardial infection.

Quoted from the Healthline page, the infection occurs when bacteria from the mouth, skin, intestine and other areas of the body enter the bloodstream.

As a result of the symptoms of the disease never subsided, until
his legs were very painful and uncomfortable.

He felt the situation was not improving and finally he decided to go to the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

At the hospital, a chest scan showed that there was heart damage from an infection.

Finally, Martin was transferred to a different hospital.

There he underwent open heart surgery for seven hours to repair his mitral valve and replace his aortic valve.

Martin regretted his actions at the time.

If when the popcorn involved for three days in his teeth he went to the dentist, everything would be different.

Martin's wife Helen (38) told Fox News that her husband's infection could easily be treated with antibiotics if treated faster.
