Waw, The Netherlands' Tangsi Is Now the Leading Destination of Siak Regency

SIAK- The Dutch  Tangsi cultural heritage building located on the side of the Siak River, Kampung Benteng Hulu, Mempura District, Siak Regency, is now one of the leading destinations.

The location of Tangsi Netherlands can be reached in about 2-3 hours from Pekanbaru City, Riau Province.

The Dutch shelter in the Siak Sultanate Cultural Heritage Area is a fortress of Dutch heritage, which used to function as a resident's office, detention center, bullet warehouse and army barracks.

This building has five main buildings and a number of small buildings.
 

The building, which was built in 1880, was previously in poor condition and had minimal maintenance. The walls of the main building in the area are damaged and dull, and some parts of the building are also missing.

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has revitalized the Dutch Tangsi building in 2018.

Revitalization of the Dutch Camp includes the restoration of major buildings and small buildings, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and repair of doors, windows and toilets. Restoration does not eliminate the original architecture of the building. After being restored, the Dutch Tangsi is now turning into a more beautiful, cleaner building and is equipped with various facilities.

There are seven buildings that function as libraries, offices, museums, exhibition halls, toilets, kitchens (catering facilities), multipurpose areas, and warehouses.

It is hoped that the Dutch Tangsi revitalization program can increase tourist arrivals, thereby boosting the economy of the local community. (R24 / Lin)
