News24xx.com - For fans of boba drinks, they know that one of the best parts of this drink is the springy texture. Although it is very delicious, it is very important to chew the chewy pearls properly before swallowing, because if not the boba can be difficult for the body to digest. As happened by this teenager from China.

This 13-year-old boy from Henan was rushed to the emergency department after he complained of unbearable stomach pain. He then went through a series of X-ray examinations and scans. The hospital later found that the boy had signs of intestinal infarction, which meant his intestines were injured, Sing Tao reported.

The doctor in charge of his case, Zhang, said that he advised the boy to operate. When the operation took place, the doctor found two hard foreign objects of different sizes in the boy's intestines. The object is concluded as the main cause of infarction.

A few days after the operation, the boy began removing the rest of the foreign matter in his system. It was revealed that the boy drank bubble tea twice a week before he had an upset stomach. However, it seems that the boy did not chew boba properly before swallowing it. That's what has caused intestinal infarction.

Zhang said that the main ingredients of pearl bubble tea are tapioca flour and corn flour which cannot be digested easily. He added that there might also be a thickening material added to the pearl which makes it more difficult to digest. He advised parents to control the consumption of bubble tea in their children to avoid similar health problems.
