The dream of Sukarno when protecting Indonesia with nuclear weapons

News24xx.com - The fiery spirit to create the atomic bomb itself can be seen from Soekarno's speech at the 36th Muhammadiyah Congress in Bandung on July 24, 1965.

In order to make that dream come true, Sukarno held a meeting with Chinese Marshal Chen Yi in Jakarta in November and December 1964.

At that time Sukarno insisted that China was willing to supply an atomic bomb which would be claimed as a trial by the Indonesian government.

The request was due to the lack of adequate human resource support from Indonesia. Hoping the tit for tat instead the request was not granted by China.

In the end the plan to develop nuclear weapons coveted by Sukarno stalled. He only managed to gather a small team that worked in secret.

On October 1, 1965, Sukarno's nuclear ideals were completely dashed. And sank when the PKI surfaced.
