"Not only half, but this is more, up to 60 percent of sales down after the outbreak was announced," said Agus, one of the culinary sellers at the plastery tourist attractions Monday (05/04/2020)

According to him, sales turnover fell because people reduced their activities outside the home. They confined themselves to their homes and only went out if they needed something important, and more so in a few weeks the government issued an appeal so that buyers could just pack food.

"This situation has been limited since the activities of residents were limited to cutting the Covid-19 distribution chain," Agus said.

Before Covid-19 emerged, the turnover obtained in a day was recognized by Agus reaching Rp. 500,000 to Rp. 1,000,000 especially if it was during the holiday season, but after the emergence of the Covid-19 issue and the community limited activities, he only received a turnover of Rp.50,000 to Rp 100,000 per day.

"Now the sale is very quiet, every day to get the 100,000 is already very difficult, sometimes in one day since this virus there is no selling and buying activity," he said

Meanwhile, Ali, one of the food traders in the pile also said, the impact of the corona virus also made him have to experience a fairly high turnover decline. Since the issue started, the place where he sprawl became buyerless.

"It is usually crowded, especially if there is a Sunday or school holiday, at least your business is still smooth, but after the outbreak of this virus, to meet our daily food needs is difficult," he said.

"We hope that the Regional Government of Siak can help us, at least it can reduce our burden in meeting our food needs because it is very difficult for us now," he added.

Meanwhile, according to field observations, a number of places selling various foods and drinks at the Siap plaster tour are indeed still open as usual, but because of the Corona Pandemic virus this place is usually very quiet now, even along the banks of the Siak river there is no one sitting  as usual, only a few traders were seen clearing their places of sale.

To note Turap itself is a place located along the banks of the Siak river which is a culinary tourism center in the city of the Palace, where along the Siak river is lined with traders selling a variety of culinary delights, so it usually becomes one of the tourist destinations both inside and outside the city Siak (R24 / Lin)
