Two young brothers catch a snake while fishing in a canal

However, this recent footage of two brave boys in Cambodia will shock you—not because they were attacked by this massive snake, but because they caught it! Two brothers went to a canal in Cambodia to catch fish. While another boy filmed them, they spread their fish net wide enough to catch as much fish there is in the small canal.

However, they later found out that there was a massive snake lurking in the waters. They were able to get hold of the snake’s tail and dragged it around to subdue it. Later on, they were able to get hold of the snake’s head using a stick.

They weren’t able to catch any fish, but the snake was definitely a better catch! Snakes are considered medicinal in Chinese lore, as a “warming” food, and the blood of snakes is often mixed with liquor to produce a virility enhancer. Traditional South American medicine includes dried or powdered snake meat which is believed to cure several different illnesses.

Snake meat is usually said to taste like chicken.
