News24xx.com - Google has released an artificial intelligence device to help a child protection organization moderate and identify images of child sexual abuse on the internet.

To identify it, Google uses Safe Content API which is a tool for developers. With this, AI will process and minimize images such as child abuse so that fewer people have to verify that the content can be reduced.

Reported by CNET, Wednesday, September 4th 2018, Google claims that its artificial intelligence can help moderators to identify child abuse content up to 700% more. "Identifying fast images makes children who are currently sexually abused can be more quickly identified and protected from further abuse" said technical leader Nikola Todorovic and Google product manager Abhi Chaudhuri.

"We provide this tool for free to organizations and industry partners through our Content Safety API, a tool to increase the capacity to review content so that people exposed to the content can be reduced" they added

This Google step also reaps praise from the Internet Watch Foundation, a social organization based in the UK that aims to minimize child sexual abuse and violence content on the internet.

"We, and especially our expert analysts, are very enthusiastic about developing artificial intelligence tools that can help our human expert reviewers to a larger scale" said Internet Watch Foundation CEO Susie Hargreaves "By sharing this new technology, image identification can be accelerated, thus making the internet a safer place for all users, especially for children"
