News24xx.com - Twitter permanently prohibits US conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his website Infowars from its platform and Periscope. Reporting from Reuters, this ban occured on Thursday, September 6th 2018 in an official Twitter statement that said the account had violated its behavior policy.

"Because we continue to improve transparency regarding our rules and actions" the company tweeted on its official website. "We don't usually comment on the enforcement actions we take on individual accounts for their privacy."

In a video posted on the Infowars website on Thursday, Jones said in defense. "I was ban not because i lied, but because i told the truth and because i am popular" he said, Thursday, September 6th 2018.

The ban came weeks after Apple, YouTube and Facebook dropped the Jones podcast and channel. Last month, Jones lost to the libel suit filed against him by the parents of a boy who was killed in the Sandy Hook shooting.

Previously, a number of technology companies said that they could not tolerate content that was disseminated by Jones because they were perceived to spread hatred.

Jones founded Infowars almost two decades ago, precisely in 1999. Until now, he had a large number of audiences who read or listened to his conspiracy theories. One theory that is quite popular is about the events of September 11, 2001, when there was terror in New York and Washington D. C., United States. He assumed that the incident was planned by the US government itself.
