News24xx.com - Hurricane Michael hit Florida on Wednesday, October 10th 2018, which said is the strongest that hit United States for more than a century.

The US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) estimates that the impact of this storm will be very devestating considering that most buildings in Florida cannot withstand storms. Reported by Reuters on Thursday, October 11th 2018.

"Most likely the electricity in the area affected by the storm will also be cut off. Those who live only to feel the storm experience are usually not safe to share that experience unfortunately" said Head of FEMA

The US National Hurricane Center reported that the Category Four Hurricane first swept Mexico Beach around 1:00 p.m. local time. Wind speed of 250 kilometers per hour brought by Hurricane Michael and also accompanied by heavy rain.

"Hurricane Michael is expected to be the most destructive storm ever hit the Florida Panhandle for the past century" said Florida Governor Rick Scott, as quoted by CNN International.

"Water could rise suddenly to exceed the roof of the house. Residents have been urged to be alert to the biggest storm in the US since 1851" urged Scott.

The Governor of Florida has ordered thousands of people to take part in the evacuation. And said that if there were still people who had not left their homes, it was too late.

"The evacuation time for the coastal area has passed. Be prepared, and be careful. Don't leave the house when the storm is still going. You will not survive. This is deadly" he said.
