Machine Learning, newest feature from Instagram to eradicate bullying

News24xx.com - Instagram continues to increase its popularity, and one of them is by eradicating bullying on its platform. This Facebook service starts using machine learning to detect bullying.

 

Machine learning technology detects bullying in photos and captions. Posts which contain bullying content will be sent to the Community Operations team on Instagram for review.

 

The new Instagram CEO, Adam Mosseri, said, "Online bullying is a complex problem. And we know that we have to work harder to limit the occurrence of bullying, so that more goodness will spread on Instagram." Quoted from CNN on Saturday, October 10th 2018.

 

Mosseri has just been appointed to lead Instagram to replace the previous founder and CEO Kevin Systrom. This is the first announcement he has made since serving as Instagram CEO.

 

Instagram explained, this technology can detect bullying and harassment such as ridicule about appearance, character, health conditions and nature of attack

 

For example, this technology will identify bullying tactics, such as comparing, ranking captions and photos. And also like dividing it into two screens which are divided into two to compare it with other people's posts that are also indicated to be negative.

 

Not yet known, what other content can this technology detect, and whether machine learning also works on photos that don't have captions. Instagram promises this feature to be released gradually next week.
