News24xx.com - Apple's efforts to develop Maps application continue. Previously, efforts to develop Apple Maps in addition to taking pictures from satellites were reported to have also used drones to complete the data.

Well recently, Twitter users with an @dantecesa account happened to meet a data collection tool by Apple Maps in California, United States. Not with drones, but by using a kind of backpack.

On the photos, it looks like a backpack that has an Apple Maps label has a special camera and LiDAR sensor that is used to load the situation data around. There has been no special response from Apple regarding the backpack with the Apple Maps label on it. Quoted from Engadget, Apple seems to want to imitate Google where they used to record an area in various ways. For example Street View Trekker which can also be carried on the back like a bag.

Apple has indeed begun to improve map details in the iOS 12. However, for now, it seems they have not entered the data taken by the backpack camera yet.
