This company releases the kit to raise worms by your own in your house

News24xx.com - This Hong Kong-based company launches a package which contains equipment to raise worms at home. Later, these worms will be processed into food. A young Hong Kong businessman, Katahrina Unger, has a unique way of doing business. The 28-year-old woman is the owner of Livin Farms, a start-up company that has made incubators for insects since 2016.

Now he launches worms that are safe for use in the kitchen. "In 2050, we will have more than 9 billion people on this planet. So we have to find ways to feed ourselves, and feed the next generation" Unger said.

"Insects are a good as an alternative food, it is good to replace meat. The protein content is also high. They can grow in food waste, with small rooms, and little water. It tastes good too" he continued.

One package of this worm is valued at around USD 140, which contains a small incubator, soil that has been fertilized, until the insect seeds that later will turn into worms and guidebooks on how to raise them. Of course this worm package has pros and cons.

According to Miles Price, a nutritionist from Hong Kong, the content in insects is still not known accurately, even this worm package may have significant implications for food security and consumer acceptance.
