News24xx.com - What is the best exercise for longevity? A recent study published in the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings might have the answer. According to researchers, tennis can be the most impactful sport to give us the longevity.

The leader of the study, Dr. Peter Schnohr found out after examining 25 years of data from 9,000 people in the Copenhagen Heart Study. Dr. Peter divided the participants' data into eight groups, namely those who do tennis, badminton, soccer, cycling, swimming, jogging, calisthenics, and the gym after that they compared it to the average length of life.

It is known that people who do tennis have the longest increase in life expectancy among other groups of around 9.7 years, followed by 6.2 years of badminton and 4.7 years of soccer. Previous researchers have taken into account other factors such as smoking habits, age, gender, income, and educational status.

Why does tennis provide the benefits of increasing the longest life expectancy? Dr. Peter has not found a definite answer but according to him this possibility is related to the social aspects given by the sport."Tennis players, maybe after training tends to spend time drinking together. Yes, at least this exercise requires two people" said Dr. Peter as quoted from ABC Australia, Tuesday, December 11th 2018.
