A five-year-old boy has written to Santa asking for a new face for Christmas, after got badly burned in a house fire

A five-year-old boy named Bakhtiyer Sindrov from Kazakhstan has written a letter to Santa asking for a new face for Christmas.

In past, Bakhtiyer was got badly burned in a house fire. At that time,  Bakhtiyer was a baby sleeping in his cot beside the fireplace when the blaze broke out. The incident makes him lost his nose, ears and hair.  

And he has written a heart-breaking letter and asking to be just same like other children. 

The letter reads, "Hello Father Christmas! I got badly burned when I was a little boy. I lost my face in the fire and since then I have to hide from people because they are scared of me. I am scared of myself when I am looking in the mirror. I do not have a nose, ears or hair. My mum says that I will not go to school. I am often in pain, but I do not cry. But my mother does. Father Christmas, give me a new face, please, I will never cry in my life then. I just want to be like other children, have face, nose, ears and hair."

Since the incident, he does not go to school and his parents hide him underneath a blanket when they go out. 

Bakhtiyer cannot write and so dictated the letter to his father. The letter was sent to the charity ‘Ya ryadom,’ (I Am Beside You) which is based in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan. 

The young boy’s family is too poor to afford treatment and the treatment only began several years later, when the NGO learned about his situation.

Family friend named Olga Ryabeva said, "He was very little when his face, head, neck and shoulders got burned."

But now, over the last year, Bakhtiyer has received medical treatment at the MedIndia clinic in India. 

Reconstructive surgery has given the boy new lips, teeth and eyelids. In July this year, doctors inserted implants into his neck to stretch his skin. It will be used to replace the facial skin that had been completely burned off. 

Bakhtiyer will undergo surgery in late December this year.
