This one flight forced to return to the airport after forgotten to drop down human heart from its cargo

News24xx.com - The Southwest Airlines flight from Seattle to Dallas, United States (US), on Sunday, December 9th 2018 then, experienced an unusual incident. The plane was forced to turn back to the airport because it forgot to lower the human heart cargo.

Details of the incident revealed that the plane should carry the heart from a donor to Seattle to be transferred at the hospital. It's just that the heart has never been lowered and the crew just realized it when the flight was almost halfway.

Some passengers were reportedly shocked when the aircraft captain announced the plane had to return and the reason behind it. A doctor who happened to be a passenger described the incident as "a horror story because of a great negligence".

According to some human cardiologists, when part of limbs removed from the body, it has about four to six hours to be used in the transplant process. Meanwhile the plane was reported to have aired for three hours before realizing they never dropped the important package. Through a statement the airline confirmed that even though there was a delay the heart had been given to the donor recipient within a specified time limit.

"Families have been relieved to hear that their beloved relatives' heart can be accepted by the donor’s body and can be used to help others" said Sierra Donor Services Executive Director Monica Johnson who received the donor's heart as quoted by the BBC on Sunday, December 16th 2018.
