The oldest Youtuber in the world, Karre Mastanamma died at the age of 107

News24xx.com - The oldest YouTuber in the world, known for her unique cooking program, Karre Mastanamma died on Monday, December 3rd at the age of 107. As cited from BBC, the old woman had suffered from a sickness since six months ago.

Karre Mastanamma became famous because of her unusual cooking. Her YouTube channel, “Country Foods”, had more than one million subscribers with hundreds of cooking videos, including the most iconic, Watermelon Chicken.

The channel was managed by her grandchild and his friend, and was launched in 2016. It quickly became hits on the internet. In the YouTube videos, Mastanamma will usually be seen in an open field in remote village with minimal cooking and eating utensils. She would use her nails to peel vegetables and an old knife to cut them. She would serve the food on banana leaves.

The news of her death came after her fans started questioning why her YouTube channel stopped posting. The channel then made the announcement by uploading a video recording Mastanamma’s last journey when her village mourned for her.

Mastanamma quickly became popular due to her seafood recipes. She also enjoyed cooking more esoteric foods, ones that were known by her community, and also some of her own experiments. Among her experiments were lamb’s head, snail curry and watermelon chicken.

Mastanamma’s life was full of hardship. She lost her husband at the age of 22. She also lost 5 children to cholera. To provide for her family, she worked in the farm. Her cooking ways intrigued many people in her village. However, she finally became popular all over the world when a restaurant owned by her grandson, Lakshman, served her cooking and then uploaded it on YouTube.  In cooking, the old woman preferred the old-fashioned way, using woods in an open field.
