Rare collection of Batman comics which worth of USD 1,4 million was stolen


IllustrationIllustration - Theft is one of the worst nightmares for any comic collector. An US comic collector, Rand Lawrence, lost his collection of 'Batman' and 'Detective Comics' comics which have the price amounted to USD 1.4 million. The collection was kept in an indoor storage unit in Boca Raton, Florida.

He immediately reported it to the police. "Today I experienced the worst day that everyone was afraid of. 439 of my comic collections were stolen and a double storage unit in my room was heavily damaged" he was quoted as saying by the Comicbook, Friday, January 11th 2019.

He also wrote down his sadness on his personal social media accounts. "As you know, I collected the best 'Batman' and 'Detective Comics' collections. I have been the number one collector on the list for years. I know that many of you have experienced the theft of your loved items but for me this is the first and it’s very devastating" Lawrence said.

He also asked for every collector and the public to be vigilant if his collection is sold. "We might know who the robbers are, I work with the police to get more information, but in the meantime if there is a collection of my comics that are brought to you, I hope you can help me and get it back to me because the collection will definitely enter the black market.”
