Woman in Minahasa was killed by the crocodile she rose by herself

News24xx.com - Deasy Tuwo, the head of a laboratory in Minahasa, North Sulawesi, was mauled by a pet crocodile.

The authorities said that the woman was killed by the14 feet crocodile last Thursday. Her dead body was found by her colleagues the following morning.

“The indication is that she fell into the crocodile’s enclosure,” said Hendrik Rundengan from the local conservations, as cited from Jakarta Post.

The crocodile, named Merry, had eaten Deasy’s hands. Most of her abdomen was also missing, which they speculated was still inside the crocodile’s stomach.

The reptile was owned as a pet illegally. It will be transferred to a conservation area. The crocodile was sedated and removed from is enclosure on Monday. The operation took three hours and involved dozens of people, including conservation officials, the army and the police.
