News24xx.com - Men may no longer be able to avoid heat with minimal clothing. Research published in the journal Nature Communications states that overheating temperatures can reduce male fertility across generations.

Quoted from the Straits Times, research was conducted on male red beetles which exposed to heat waves. The first exposure caused the number of offspring to be less than 50 percent estimated. The second exposure of the next 10 days caused sterile beetles and lowered life expectancy.

"Something similar can happen to humans, because male fertility is very sensitive to heat. But the heat effect on these generations is very surprising. In short, we heat the earth and stop the reproductive process itself" said biologist Matt Gage of the University of East Anglia at the Thomson Reuters Foundation.

The results of similar research were published in Science magazine in 2017. Studies of flying insect populations in Germany fell 75 percent in 30 years. Gage believes this decline has something to do with increasing the earth's temperature in 30 years. This threatens the diversity of living things as temperatures get hotter.

Although the research stated this risk, Gage was convinced that humans were able to adjust themselves. This adaptation process can reduce the risk of decreasing fertility in men. Gage also suggests that men who plan to have offspring don't worry about the risk of decreasing fertility.
