Scientists now are studying about vampire bat saliva to cure hypertension in human

News24xx.com - When the bat sucks blood of its prey, the blood from the wound will keep flowing out it is because in its saliva there is a special protein that can stop the prey's blood clotting enzyme. Related to this, biologist Bryan Fry from the University of Queensland is examining how vampire bat saliva can be used for blood diseases in humans, for example for drugs for hypertension or transplant support.

"This vampire bat's saliva is designed to cause biochemical changes in its prey, which cause relentless bleeding by destroying blood clots enzime. This is something that is now being studied intensively" said Bryan which was quoted by ABC Australia on Friday, January 18th 2019.

"There is the potential to help doctors treat various conditions ranging from high blood pressure in fine blood vessels, or improving blood flow to damaged tissue such as during skin transplants" he continued.
