The reason why woman who stressed at work has tendency to gain more weight than men


IllustrationIllustration - A study from the University of Gothenburg revealed that stress of work has a big impact on a woman. The research led by Sofia Klingberg proves that women who have difficulty dealing with their work problems or feel that they have no control on their careers are more vulnerable to get fat.

In research conducted on more than 3,800 women revealed that work could have a bad influence for their weight. When stress due to office assignments, women can be lazier which make them to keep eating to reduce their stress. Stress also secretes the hormone cortisol, which later can make their stomach bloated.

Women are more vulnurable to gain weight because of work than men and there is a reason. It is said that women are more vulnurable of getting stress because the work on their job plus the work on their household which make the stress doubled.

"When talking about the level of demand for work, only women are affected. We have not investigated the underlying cause but that may be due to a combination of greater work demands and responsibilities in homes that women often suffer. This can make it difficult for them to do some exercise to cut loose their weight and live a healthy life" Sofia Klingberg said.

A study published in the journal International Archives of Occupational and Environmental Health also reveals similar things. It is said that women who have difficulty in work are more vulnerable to gain weight 20% than those who don't. Therefore, it is recommended that women to be more relax in facing their career burden while still showing maximum performance at their work both on the office and the home.
