News24xx.com - Tinder and Grindr matchmaking applications are being investigated in the UK because of the age verification system that turns out could be misused. This investigation was carried out by authorities in the UK, in this case the British Ministry of Culture. More than 30 cases were found in which there was a violation of the age verification system in the application, which led to rape.

There were also 60 other cases related to sexual exploitation of minors which occurred because of the matchmaking search application, quoted from The Verge, on Wednesday, February 13th 2019. "I will write to the company to ask how they can protect children from using their application, including about verifying their age. If I am not satisfied with their answers, I have the right to take the frther steps" said Jeremy Wright, Minister of English Culture.

Both Tinder and Grindr claimed to have two methods to keep no underage children from using their applications, namely algorithms and employees who monitor all of the users.

A Tinder spokesperson said they used several tools including automatic profile scanners to mark language and images that violated the rules, monitor accounts with suspicious profiles, and review the reports from users. "We also block e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, and various other identification tools related to underage users to overcome users who try to violate this rule" he added.
