News24xx.com - Greenpeace Indonesia's climate and energy campaigner Bondan Ariyanu accused air pollution in Jakarta of being above the normal threshold. The level of PM 2.5 reaches 88-102 ug / m3. Lung health practitioner Dr. Agus Dwi Susanto, SpP from RSUP Persahabatan explained PM 2.5, one of the components of air pollution called Particulate Matter.

This particle has a much smaller size than PM 10 so it is more dangerous because it can enter the blood vessels. "The long-term impact can be a decrease in lung function, the risk of asthma. Even according to WHO PM 2.5 is associated with the risk of lung cancer in humans" explained Dr. Agus to detikHealth.

In addition to PM 2.5 and PM 10 which are solid and liquid components, other components in air pollution also include various kinds of gases such as CO, CO2, SO2. Each has a harmful effect on the body when it exceeds the threshold.

Regarding the high pollution in Jakarta, as alleged by Greenpeace, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan admitted that he is reviewing for the solution. "There will be a solution, God willing" Anies said at City Hall, at Medan Merdeka Selatan street, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, February 14th 2019.
