News24xx.com - To lie to the police, a mother and father put their toddler’s in a bucket of acid. Then, they claiming that she accidentally drowned. The parents named Monica Dominguez, 37, and Gerald Zavala-Loredo, 32, reportedly put two year-old Rebecca Zavala’s remains in a five-gallon bucket at their home in Laredo, Texas, then stuffed it in a closet.

Dominguez told police that the unnamed youngster had drowned after being left alone in a bathtub by her mother with the shower switched on. Dominguez has previously been charged with injuring a child, and violating her probation in relation to that charge. Zavala-Loredo has been placed on immigration hold because he is in the US illegally.

Webb County District Attorney Isidro Alaniz, saying, "As you can imagine, it’s very difficult for all of us in law enforcement and for the first responders to be in a situation to come across a scene like we did yesterday."

Both parents have so far been charged with evidence tampering, endangering a child and abuse of a corpse.
