Lombok chosen as the best Halal tourist destination in Indonesia, beating Aceh

News24xx.com - Lombok is chosen as the best halal tourist destination in Indonesia by Indonesia Muslim Travel Index (IMTI) 2019. It beats other places such as Aceh, Riau, Jakarta, West Sumatra, West Java, Yohyakarta, Central Java, Malang and South Sulawesi. According to IMTI’s report, Lombok gets the score of 70.

The second place goes to Aceh, followed by Riau Islands, Special Capital Region of Jakarta, and West Sumatra. The last place goes to South Sulawesi, with the score 33.

The CEO of CrescentRating and HalalTrip, Fazal Bahardeen said that IMTI 2019 refers to Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) which adopts four criteria: Access, Communication, Environment and Service. Meanwhile, Riyanto Sofyan from development acceleration team of halal tourism said that halal tourism is similar to ordinary tourism, but there is extend service specially served for Muslim tourists.

“There are foods and drinks that are guaranteed to be halal. There is easy access to pray including itinerary tourism packet where tourist can do jamak prayer,” he said.
