As information, the Argentinian striker, 28, died when his flight from France to Wales crashed into the English Channel on January 21. Then his body was taken to the Holly Tree Lodge mortuary in Bournemouth, Dorset, after it was found following a search on February 6 2019.

Police are now investigating the images, which were shared on Twitter. It comes just days after Sala’s father Horacio died from a heart attack, three months after his son’s death.

Sala was flying to Cardiff from Nantes when the Piper Malibu plane he was travelling in went down into the English Chanel. Pilot David Ibbotson was also killed in the crash, although his body has not been found until now.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) stated in February that Mr Ibbotson was not licensed to fly passengers. It was also found that the plane itself was not registered to undertake commercial flights.

Horacio Sala passed away this week after suffering a heart attack at home in Progreso, Santa Fe, in Argentina. Before, the 58-year-old had struggled to come to terms with the death of his son.
