News24xx.com - One of the big digital billboards that adorn Times Square in New York, United States was caught in fire. There were no casualties from this incident. Reporting from AFP on Sunday, May 19th 2019, the fire began to burn the billboard around 3 pm local time. Seen in the location, firefighters were trying to extinguish the fire. Traffic around the location seems to be stuck.

Social media users upload pictures and videos showing the flames on one side of the sign when displaying drink advertisements that sponsor the New York World Pride celebration next month. The celebration marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall gay rights rebellion.

A spokesman for the New York Fire Department said there were no injuries and no damage to the building where the billboard was installed. The fire was extinguished at 3.58 in the afternoon, they told AFP. It was unclear what started the fire.
