Volodymyr Zelensky, the former comedian who beat politicians in Ukraine to be the president of Ukraine

He walked to the parliament building while greeting residents directly. Reported by the New York Times, on Tuesday, May 21st 2019, Zelensky chose a different style from the previous president. While walking to the parliament building, Zelensky also took selfies with residents who congratulated him.

After being installed, Zelensky immediately acted quickly to hold parliamentary elections to consolidate his program. In his first speech as president, Zelensky said his main priority now is the matter of a ceasefire with Russia which had killed more than 13 thousand people.

Zelensky is a new politician who gained popularity as a comedian on Ukrainian television shows. He led a political party, Servant of the People, which was just registered last year. The party has not held any seat in the Ukrainian Parliament. Nevertheless, his figure is able to defeat a number of candidates who are mainstay politicians.
