News mentioned the possibility of this outbreak hit the province of Larkana in Sindh, prompting thousands of people to undergo blood tests again in 2016. On this occasion, as many as 1,521 people tested positive for HIV, based on the numbers owned by the AIDS management agency, Sindh Aids Control Program (SACP).
