News24xx.com - Qatar who is isolated by neighboring countries offered free visas to 80 countries. This offer aims to stimulate the Qatar tourism and air transportation.

 

"The visa exemption scheme will make Qatar become the most open countries in the region," said Ministry of Tourism officials in Qatar, Hasan al-Ibrahim, in a press conference in Doha, as reported by AFP, Thursday, August 10 2017.

 

Qatar Ministry of Intern Affairs, Mohamed Rashed al-Mazrouei, declared that citizens from 80 countries need only show a valid passport in order to enter into the territory of Qatar, which will host the 2022 World Cup.

 

Visa-free program, or commonly called ' visa waiver ' is, in effect, immediately after the announcement conveyed the authority of Qatar on Wednesday, August 9 2017 local time.


This program applies to the countries of the European Union in the Schengen zone, a few Western countries, Latin America and Asia.

 

Lebanon was the only Arab country that enters this visa-free program. Although the six Arab States of the Gulf Cooperation Council member (GCC), which is home to Qatar, has gained visa-free.

 

Visa-free program is divided into two groups, namely the 33 countries which got the visa free for 180 days and 47 countries that get a free 30 day visa in Qatar.

 

Indonesia entered the Group of 47 countries with visa-free period for 30 days, along with the United States (USA), Australia and dozens of other countries. Mazrouei stated that countries enter this program is based on the security and economic considerations.
