Not Only Visa for Tourist; Saudi Arabia Also Holds World Class Tennis Tournaments

Photo : InternetPhoto : Internet -Saudi Arabia l for the first time wil hold an international tennis tournament which is a men's exhibition tournament, as quoted by AFP on Tuesday local time.

Three-time Grand Slam champions from Switzerland, Stanislas Wawrinka and new star Daniil Medvedev are two big names who have declared themselves ready to appear in the hard court tournament followed by eight players, held on December 12-14.

That $ 3 million prize tournament was held at Diriyah on the outskirts of Riyadh. This place later will also be the venue for a world heavyweight boxing battle between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr. on December 7.

Saudi authorities use sports to soften their international image and create a platform for reform in the country.

In February they hosted the first European Tour golf tournament and next year they will hold a Dakar Rally.

All that was done after the Saudis faced a major diplomatic setback due to the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in October last year.
