Four Indonesian Comic Artists Set to 2017 Europalian Festival in Brussel, Belgium

News24xx.com - A series of notable Indonesian comic artists will be flew to the Europalia Festival 2017 event in Brussels, Belgium. Starting from Sheila Rooswita up Sandy Yudha is present in list of comic field curator, Hikmat Darmawan.

"There are four artists at three specific sites in the comicsfield," said Hikmat after a news conference at the Balairung Sapta Soesilo Soedarman, Beautiful Indonesian Tourism Ministry, Central Jakarta, Friday 31 August 2017.

The first comic, Sheila Rooswita will collaborate with Peter Van Dongen, Wittockiana Museum Amsterdam origin. "Peter Van Dongen ever illustrated ancient Jakarta's colonial and Sheila will respond with a picture of urban Jakarta," explained Hikmat.

The third comic is Prihatoko Moki in Muntpunt public library in Brussels. He will be working on a mural on glass part of Muntpunt floor. Moki comic-style visual approaches clear line as developed by Hergé (creator of Tintin), Moki makes a statement about the social world post-colonialism in Java.

"Moki will respond to the outward–facing windows. Contrived murals and will be displayed. The exhibition will be opened on October 26,".

Sandy Yudha is the fourth comic artists with the exhibition ' Atom Jardin '. "Sandy Yudha make woodcut–like cut paper techniques."

Not only that, there's also a session of public lectures hosted by Seno Gumira Ajidarma and Beng Rahadian. The discussion will be held at Muntpunt on 23 November 2017.
