Welcoming the New Year, Meranti District Government Holds Tablig Akbar's Activities

News24xx.com - At the end of the evening of 2019, welcoming the turn of 2020, the Government of the Meranti Islands Regency held a Tablig Akbar event with the community, an activity that aimed as a form of gratitude as well as praying for Meranti to become the Regency as it was aspired to, held at the Great Mosque of Darul Ulum, Selatpanjang, Tuesday night (Tuesday 12/31/2019).

Present at the event, Deputy Regent Said Hasyim, Al Ustadz Muhammad Suhendri, Ustadz Fauzy and other Ustadz, Danramil Selatpanjang Mayor Inf. Irwan, Legislator of the Meranti DPRD, Kasatpol PP Meranti Helfandi SE M.Si, Kabag Kesra Drs. Husni Gamal, Posal Selatpanjang Representative, Representative of the Meranti Regional Police, Riau Riau Board of Staff and others.

On that occasion, the Deputy Regent of Meranti hoped that the community would abandon the old habit of welcoming the turn of the year of Christ, an old habit that was often done was to burn firecrackers to spree. Because the custom is not in accordance with the teachings of Islam and Malay culture which is identical with Islam.

"Hopefully at night the turn of this year we better understand what should be done as Muslims," ??he hoped.

The activity that should have been carried out by the community, especially the young generation at the turn of the year, said the Vice Regent was a useful activity, for example doing muhasabah pondering and praying what had been done this year to be improved in the future.

"The people, especially the younger generation, are expected to realize their identity as Muslims, by doing useful activities at the turn of the year," he said.

This, according to the Vice Regent, aside from being useful for oneself who were shunned by all disasters and distress, could also keep Meranti away from the conditions experienced at this time where the community seemed to be a guest in their own country.

"Hopefully by understanding our identity, Meranti can become a developed country," he hoped again.

Meanwhile, Al Ustadz Muhammad Suhendri in his speech in front of the Congregation of the Darul Ulum Selatpanjang Mosque, gave enlightenment about the understanding of the Christian year and what should be done on New Year's Eve.
