News24xx.com - Floods that hit Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas left huge and heavy losses for the affected residents.

Floods hit the area, due to high rainfall since Tuesday (31 December 2019), even today Friday (3 January 2019) many flooding points are still present.

Many residents' belongings have been affected, ranging from dwellings, vehicles, cellphones, to important documents.

The following is how the initial handling for items submerged by the flood;

1. Car

Many cars are flooded, so special normalization must be done.

Wahidin Jaelani, Service Manager of Astrido Daihatsu Daan Mogot, West Jakarta explained that the most important thing is not to start the engine immediately, or try to start the engine.

When submerged by flooding, water can enter through the air intake or airway directly into the engine combustion chamber of the car.

Water that seeps into the engine will be mixed with engine oil which will damage the engine oil compound to lubricate the components inside the engine.

When the engine is forced into a starter, this mixture of oil and water can actually make components in the engine wear and fall out, "Wahidin concluded.

Therefore there needs to be special handling of the process of flushing, changing the new transmission oil.

In addition, car owners are also advised to immediately secure electricity to the car, by removing the negative cable in the battery.

This is done to avoid a short circuit that has the potential to damage the electrical components of the car.

The short circuit has the potential to damage car components ranging from lights to audio accessories.

2. Motor

Not only cars, motorcycle residents affected by floods were also submerged.

As a result of the water immersion the motorcycle will surely experience a strike, it needs special handling.

Reporting from Kompas.com, the first step that needs to be done is never to start the engine first.

The motor must be dried naturally, if it is dry enough, the vehicle can usually be started, but not forced.

Meanwhile, oil mixed with water can be replaced immediately.

3. Cellphone

Phones that are flooded must be dried immediately, and if they are submerged in flood conditions, it is better to turn off the electricity first, in order to avoid the danger of being electrocuted.

Then, dry the cellphone with a towel or cloth that has good water absorption, remember not to dry the cellphone in an electrically charged condition.

After that, remove the SIM card and external memory. Do not forget to also remove the SIM card and also the external memory (microSD) installed in the cell phone, if there is to save the data stored.

And when it will enter into the cellphone again, make sure it is in the maximum dry condition.

Do not use a hair dryer, but a vacuum cleaner Towel or cloth less effective? You can use a vacuum cleaner if you have one.

4. Documents
